Romp at Pompey

futuresight: harry does a maradona...

futuresight: harry does a maradona...

Apologies for my absence in these recent days; been quite busy with some other commitments; though the guilt of leaving my beloved Spurs in the lurch as we found a drop in form; In some ways I feel partly responsible. For the most part though; if you haven’t got anything nice to say best not to say anything at all right?

Today’s game is in the shadow of the headline that Harry is returning to Fratton Park; as Pompey fans find themselves passing the blame to Mr. HR himself. They say that simply put he should have known that to sustain the club at the financial strain of their top 10 and FA Cup winning side. Seems a bit of a reductionist to blame a single man; as I’m sure that Harry wouldn’t destroy the club he loves simply for the lulz.

Anyway; team news seems to suggest that Woodgate isn’t quite ready for his triumphant return; and Wilson’s forced partying would seem to rule him out from the action today. Imagine a non-drinker who loves his football being forced to stay and enjoy the company of his international team mates enjoying the free libations knowing that for the most part he won’t be having a run out. Hopefully the lads will throw out a few chants today to make him feel at home.

Anyway; Pompey of all the teams in the league (bar Hull) are a team which we should be able to take all the points today; though the absence of Wilson is a little worrying. Krancjar will have to pull out a performance and the return of Crouch in form should also solidify the win for us. Feels a bit cheeky that we’re taking half their best team back to them to wipe the floor with them; but safe to say that they will be out to prove a point today; massive headlines would if we had a rout with goals from Crouch, Defoe and Krancjar. Eyes will be on Jamie and Kevin today also; who certainly we wouldn’t enjoy being embarrassed by our shrewd business moves in the summer.
