Well; in the press anyway. What he can say he will say and for the most part we’re going to be looking worse for it. However, the way that Darren played in our system was all well and good; but lacked a certain 101 cutting edge that we now have with our striking collective. I think that anyone who has to any extent a footballing brain in their skull that Bent despite scoring goals didn’t have the goods in many other areas of his game. Anyway after what happened; we really need to bounce back with a win tommorow especially on the back of failing to make chances count against Stoke. Whilst Sunderland have a stronger team than ever and are really looking to crack on in the next couple of years, despite this they’re at the weakest they’ve been this season with Cattermole, Jones and Cana notable absences. Due to the lack of these specifically we can expect a distinct lack of bite in the Mackems with only Bent and Malbranque really posing any killer instinct.
The game will also feature the return of Defoe and Lennon which should really put the ball in our court. The question is; are we bothered though? Because when it comes down to it fixtures like these are for the most part ours for the taking.
In a round up of other news; we’re now linked with South China and we’re looking at bringing in their star prospect for a trial. Taarabt, whilst setting the championship alight has reiterated that he wants out of Spurs ASAP despite his improving prospects at the club.
